18. Kehf Suresi 55. ayet E. Henry Palmer

Naught prevented men from believing when the guidance came to them, or from asking pardon of their Lord, except the coming on them of the course of those of yore, or the coming of the torment before their eyes.

وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ اَنْ يُؤْمِنُٓوا اِذْ جَٓاءَهُمُ الْهُدٰى وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّهُمْ اِلَّٓا اَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْاَوَّل۪ينَ اَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ قُبُلاً

Ve ma menean nase en yu'minu iz cae humul huda ve yestagfiru rabbehum illa en te'tiyehum sunnetul evveline ev ye'tiyehumul azabu kubula.
